Tammy has a passion for patient safety, quality and high reliability processes and is always seeking the “voice of the patient/family” in our improvement efforts. Respected for her professionalism and positive attitude, Tammy is the catalyst for improvement with her influence and relationships with clinicians from physicians to front-line ancillary staff.
With her Black Belt certification in Lean utilizing the Toyota Production System principles. Projects that Tammy has led include, but are not limited to, the following: established a daily monitoring system across a 10-hospital system for quality outcomes related to patient safety initiatives such as prevention of CAUTI, CLABSI, and HAPI.
She also organized the implementation of a network-wide Incident Command to manage all aspects of COVID-19 responses. She also recently worked with a local hospital executive team (CEO, CMO, CNO) on a value stream to manage length of stay and capacity management.
Tammy has a background as a Critical Care Nursing Director, a Chief Nursing Officer, and Vice President of Patient Safety-High Reliability, Regulatory and Accreditation services across 50 hospitals and seven states. Tammy also served as a Director of Clinical Informatics in a 525-bed hospital and implemented clinical redesign processes for sepsis, stroke, and other clinical improvements.
