After returning home to Guam following nearly 20 years living stateside, Jessica Ignacio-Mesa applies her experience to one of the island's most important community pillars: healthcare. She values the opportunity to learn, grow and ultimately help teach the principles of operational excellence to other organizations.

Care for others and doing good by them are the values that guide Jessica personally and professionally. She believes habitual excellence starts with safety and is reflected not only in processes, but in how people treat one another every day. Her goal is to help build a community where those standards become part of everyday culture.

In her experience with Value Capture, Jessica has been impressed by the team's genuine commitment to teaching organizational excellence and helping healthcare organizations build lasting capability.

Her connection to this work is deeply personal. In March 2026, Jessica lost her eldest sister, Norma, after a long battle with health issues. During her sister's final year, Jessica spent countless hours by her side in the hospital. Norma was determined to receive care without leaving Guam, a reality shared by many island residents who do not have the opportunity or financial means to seek care stateside. That experience strengthened Jessica's commitment to improving healthcare on Guam so future generations can have confidence in the care available close to home.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys creating through photography, woodworking at the University of Guam Maker Space, painting at Puti'on Place and building crafts at Build It. She starts each day with a fresh cup of blonde roast from her Moka pot and stays grounded by her faith and God-led purpose to serve others.

"We should be given the very best healthcare and trust our providers with our lives. I hope my dedication to operational excellence for Guam Memorial Hospital Care will leave an impact in improved care for generations to come."
