After leading numerous improvements in medical device manufacturing, Lewis moved along the value stream to the customer; driving Lean improvements in materials management, quality systems, and, now, across healthcare. Healthcare improvement work includes, Emergency, Surgical Services, Central Sterile Processing, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, and a multitude of clinic and ambulatory environments.
Drawing from his own management experiences, Lewis has been a pioneer in addressing the challenges of "managing in a Lean environment." Lewis links process change at every level from frontline operations into the processes and tools of management, building leaders and leadership systems. As part of this, Lewis also works with senior executives to align their strategies for deploying Lean improvements and changing the culture across the organization.
