HBR Ken Segel Article Value Capture

This article describes successful countermeasures taken by a number of health systems to tear down the value-destroying barriers that bureaucratic structures throw up.

Ken notes that in many organizations,

"Bureaucracy is destroying value in innumerable ways, including slowing problem solving, discouraging innovation, and diverting huge amounts of time into politicking and “working the system.”

However, there are tried-and-true methods to defeat this, most notably lean daily management systems and a real-time problem-solving approach to eliminating workplace injuries.
